Megan and Greg’s wedding at The Austin in Kansas City was the kind of day that feels effortless in the moment and unforgettable afterward. We’ve known them since before their relationship even began, so getting to document this chapter of their story felt especially meaningful.

 

From start to finish, the entire day unfolded at The Austin, one of our favorite Kansas City wedding venues for a reason. Having everything in one place, from getting ready through the reception, created a seamless, relaxed energy that let everyone stay fully present. The moody interior and modern exterior of The Austin make it one of our favorite venues to photograph, while guests and couples love it for the natural flow of the space. The big open dance floor complemented by quiet nooks allows everyone to enjoy the big moments and take breaks to connect with loved ones.

The day was expertly brought together by Events by Emily, who truly knocked it out of the park. Every detail felt intentional but never overdone, including the now-iconic phrase of the day: “The Bride and Greg.” It set the tone immediately. Personal, playful, and completely them.

 

Their outdoor ceremony nearly had to compete with the weather, but in true main-character fashion, it held off just in time. Greg’s sister officiated, making the ceremony feel deeply personal, intimate, and full of emotion.

 

The details throughout the day were just as thoughtful. Both of the couple chose jewelry that expressed their personality; for example, Greg wore cuffs made of chainmail to honor their work as a metal sculptor. Guests were treated to tacos (always a good idea), and Greg designed a custom family crest that was projected during the reception, tying their story into the space in such a unique way. Their sweetheart table was simple, romantic, and perfectly styled, giving them a moment to soak it all in together.

 

The energy was unmatched: a room full of their closest people, incredible style, and the best-dressed guests we’ve ever seen.

 

This day was the perfect balance of meaningful and fun, intentional and a little chaotic in the best way. The kind of wedding where everything feels like them. The kind of wedding we'll never forget.
